Stand in the Gap 2007 will be held on Saturday, October 6th from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on the Washington Monument grounds in Washington D.C.

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY (scroll down)

It is important to view the day of this event as a telling and retelling of God’s Great Story - a drama in which each man’s name appears in the credits.

The purpose of Stand in the Gap 2007 to put a “stake in the ground” moment during this decade when godly, trusted pastors and Christian leaders representing each living decade (and perhaps even some already departed) passes the baton from one generation to the next. The importance and urgency of this cannot be underestimated. Psalm 145:4 as the theme verse describes the main event of the day:

Psalm 145:4   "One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts."

12:00 PM Call to Return

To Return – Return to the place where God so powerfully met so many men one decade ago; return individually and collectively to our ‘first love’ - corporate, unified worship of the Living God.

"Even now," declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Joel 2:12

Stand In The Gap 2007 will open with a trumpet ensemble call to worship 1,000 men large.  (We are recruiting men to play in this ensemble now).

This section will include worship, presentations by Joseph Garlington and Dale Schlafer as well as Wall of Honor tributes #2 and 3.  This section will end with a "Declaration of Return".

1:00 PM Call to Remember

To Remember – Remember God, his attributes and his character, remember what he has done through Jesus Christ in history and in our own lives; remember what we have done and not done and respond accordingly with repentance and worship.

“Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced . . .” I Chronicles 16:12

This section will include worship, presentations by Bruce Fong, Huron Claus, and Samuel Rodriguez as well as Wall of Honor tribute #4, a special solo, video, and "spoken word".  This section will end with a "Declaration of Rememberance".

2:30 PM Call to Renew

To Renew – Renew our resolve to live according to the Word of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit and seek the fullness of our masculine identity as image-bearers and message-bearers of Almighty God.

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and
not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

3:30 PM Call to Rebuild

To Rebuild – Not every man is broken, but many are. Every man will be given the opportunity to leave the event with the intentionality and the tools to rebuild broken walls - be they personal walls, relational walls, community walls, cultural walls, or decaying institutional walls that surround us all.

“After this I will return and rebuild David's fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild and I will restore it.” Acts 15:16

“So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.” Nehemiah 4:6

This section will include worship, presentations by Chris Thyberg, Paul Sheppard and Erwin McManus.  The Wall of Honor tributes for the day will be completed with #8, 9, and 10.  This section will end with a "Declaration to Rebuild" and special music.

4:30 PM Call to Mobilize

This section will include worship and prayer.  A monumental part of the day will happen when the generational blessing takes place- a presentation by Chuck Stecker.  The event will end in a corporate reciting of the Lords Prayer.  You WILL want to stay to the end. (where are you going to go anyway?)

Every Man, Every chruch, Every Decade.  Will you be back in ten years?- with your son? brother? grandson?  October 2017- With God's blessings, we will see you there!
